"That's our M.!"

As we all know, senior M. M. suffered a season-ending injury in the Big XII Tournament championship game.

I was there at the game. Just a couple of minutes earlier, after M. made a perfect jump shot, I said to the fans beside me, "That's our M.!" It was the latest of countless contributions she's made to a team that has averaged 26 wins per season during her career.

She started every game of her college career... one of the indicators of the impact she's had on our women's program's rise to prominence. She's #4 all-time in rebounding, and K-State's all-time assist leader. M. is a great shooter. Her points total would have been much higher had she not been so unselfish in setting up teammates for baskets.

I'll remember M. in the same category as Lon Kruger, Steve Henson and Terence Newman... players whose drive to succeed, excellent sportsmanship and the way they inspired both teammates and fans was nothing short of exceptional. M., you can come back and jump on our scorer's bench any time! Some day, I know I and a bunch of other people would love for you to be our head coach.

Come tutti sappiamo, la senior M. M. ha avuto un terribile infortunio a fine stagione durante le finali del "Big XII Tournament" .

Ero alla partita. Solo qualche minuto più tardi, dopo che M. ha realizzato un perfetto tiro in sospensione, dissi ai tifosi dietro di me, "Questa è la nostra M.!" E' stato l'ultimo dei fondamentali contributi che ha dato a una squadra che ha avuto una media di 26 partite vinte durante la sua carriera.

E' partita titolare in ogni partita durante la sua carriera al college... uno degli indici dell'impatto che ha avuto nella crescita esponenziale del nostro programma di basket che con lei ha sfiorato la perfezione. E' la #4 rimbalzista di tutti i tempi, e la prima nella classifica degli assist della storia di K-State's. M. è una grande tiratrice. I suoi punti totali avrebbero potuto essere molti di più se non fosse stata così altruista e così portata al gioco di squadra.

Ricorderò M. nella stessa categoria di Lon Kruger, Steve Henson e Terence Newman... giocatori guidati al successo, eccellenti uomini di sport e ispiratori di grandi successi e soddisfazioni per le loro squadre e i loro tifosi. M., puoi tornare e saltare in testa al nostro scout in panchina in ogni momento! Un giorno, ne sono certo, io e un sacc di altre persone ti adoreremo come nostro capo allenatore.
